Job Description
A fast growing Tax Law Firm is seeking to add a detail-oriented and experienced Tax Preparer to the team. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to grow their career within tax services!
The ideal candidate will have two years + of experience in tax preparation, excellent analytical skills, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards.
Responsibilities
+ Prepare tax returns for individuals and small businesses, including federal and state filings, under the review of an in-house CPA.
+ Support clients by requesting and organizing relevant financial documents.
+ Analyze IRS transcripts to identify compliance concerns.
+ Collaborate with sales and resolution teams to assist with client needs.
Essential Skills
+ Active registration with CTEC.
+ At least two years of experience in tax preparation.
+ Skilled in using tax preparation software such as Lacerte, ProSeries, and ProSystems.
+ Possession of a valid Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN).
+ Experience handling Schedules C and E, investment reporting, and state tax filings.
+ Strong knowledge of tax laws, regulations, and compliance standards.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
+ Dedication to maintaining confidentiality and upholding ethical standards.
+ Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
+ Exceptional attention to detail.
+ Eagerness to learn and adapt.
+ Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Associate's degree in Accounting or a related field, preferred.
+ Experience preparing business and multi-state tax filings.
+ Familiarity with tax resolution procedures and compliance guidelines.
+ Prior experience working with IRS and state tax agencies.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $62400.00/yr.
