Job Description

Aspen Fiber Networks, a leading information technology solutions provider, is seeking a skilled and experienced OSP Fiber Optic Splicer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, splicing, and maintenance of fiber optic cables for our clients' outside plant (OSP) projects.

As an OSP Fiber Optic Splicer, you will work closely with our clients and other technicians to ensure the successful deployment and maintenance of fiber optic networks. You will be responsible for splicing fiber optic cables, performing tests and quality checks, and resolving any issues or damages to the network.

Responsibilities

  • Splice fiber optic cables and connectors for OSP projects.
  • Perform fiber optic cable installations, terminations, and testing.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve fiber optic network issues.
  • Perform fusion splicing and mechanical splicing.
  • Conduct OTDR tests and interpret test results.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records of splicing activities.
  • Collaborate with other technicians and teams to ensure project success.
  • Follow industry standards and safety protocols.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an OSP Fiber Optic Splicer.
  • Strong knowledge of fiber optic splicing techniques and equipment.
  • Experience with fusion splicing and mechanical splicing.
  • Ability to perform OTDR tests and interpret test results.
  • Knowledge of fiber optic network troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Relevant certifications (such as CFOT, CFOS/O, etc.) are a plus.
  • Physical ability to perform duties, including working at heights and in various weather conditions.
