DWR’s Internal Audit Office (IAO) in the Executive Division is looking for a talented and motivated individual who has excellent analytical, technical, communicative, and interpersonal skills. The IAO’s goal is to add value by providing independent and objective assurance that DWR’s internal controls are functioning as intended, also to ensure DWR complies with laws, regulations, policies, and standards. The IAO conducts risk-based audits and assignments via a systematic and disciplined approach. The IAO also oversees the investigative unit that conducts independent investigations relating to the misconduct of Department employees, contractors, and grant recipients.
Under the general direction of the Supervising Management Auditor, the Associate Management Auditor (AMA) will perform a wide variety of complex internal audits, evaluations, and internal consultations to enhance DWR’s programs and functions. The AMA’s duties include all phases of an audit and the development of findings and recommendations to ensure DWR can meet its organizational objectives. The AMA will also complete other assignments as directed and has access to confidential and sensitive information. Maintaining regular, consistent, and predictable attendance is essential for this position.
This position is headquartered in Downtown Sacramento and may be eligible for telework under DWR’s telework policy.
